The Wizard of Oz (finally!)
Ever since Grace and Faith were young, we've wanted to do the Wizard of Oz theme. And this year, with a ton of costuming by Katrina, we pulled it off. And we were fortunate to have Michael and Conner to help us with the Tin Man and Scarecrow!
2023
Vikings!
This year we collaborated and went with a full-family theme. Katrina spent hours and hours building these legit costumes (Lance got to build some weaponry, too!).
The girls also had an 80's-themed homeschool dance in October, which brought back some [cringy] memories for their parents.
2022
A 1920's flapper, Cruella DeVille, and the Snow Queen are all Rick Rolled on Halloween 2022.
There was also a Jane Austen Ball in 2022.
2021
Bob Ross comes to life one more time to paint another Happy Tree, while a unicorn is spotted, and a flamingo is found in the wild in 2021.
2020
Grace and Faith tried on some steam punk gear, Katrina was a loving clown, and Lance represented Libertarians everywhere as Ron 'Freakin' Swanson in 2020.
2019
What do a Jack-o-lantern, a black cat, a bride, and a young, masked lady have in common? I don't know either.
In 2019, there were various Halloween events happening, so there were some additional costumes required.
2017
Robin Hood and Maid Marian never looked so good, the Queen of Hearts looked like she was ready to take off heads, and the Japanese Geisha never looked more classy. Jedi-dog Albus didn't miss out on the Halloween fun in 2017!
2016
The mythological Gnomeo and Juliet somehow matched a 50's rollerskating carhop and a blue fairy to make a cute little costumed family in 2016.
2015
Tell that hunter to watch out for the deer in the headlights! Also, Grace is the lovely 'My Little Pony' Rainbow Dash and Faith is Joy from 'Inside Out'
2014
An elderly Lance and Katrina, escorted (slowly) a fairy queen and a peacock to the neighborhood candy-peddlers in 2014.
2013
In 2013, Lance and Katrina decorated themselves as Burt and Mary Poppins and also decorated their car as the London skyline. Grace was a 'red bird' and Faith was, of course, a sweet little cowgirl. Around the same time, we went to Boo at the Zoo and Faith was the cowgirl, but Grace went as a police officer.
2012
Adorable Pippi Longstocking, a ladybug, and a fairy princess spent Halloween 2012 looking for Waldo.
2010
Lance and Katrina dressed up as themselves in 2010 and Grace and Faith were the cutest Care Bears in the world.
2009
For Halloween, Lance and Katrina dressed up as good looking people from the 1950s. Grace and Faith were a princess and ladybug, respectively.
2008
The 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf went to Zoo Boise to show the other animals their cuteness.
2006
For Halloween, the most delicious cereal, LanceO's would have been sad without the perfect complement of Grade A Milk. That same year, there was a Napoleon Dynamite party and Napoleon and Deb showed up in their Idaho best.
